Getting to ExCeL London

With 3 dedicated DLR (Docklands Light Railway) stations, parking for over 4,000 cars and London City Airport just 5-minutes away getting to ExCeL London couldn’t be easier.

ExCeL London is located alongside Royal Victoria Dock just 4 miles east of Tower Bridge and a few minutes drive from Canary Wharf.

By Tube and DLR (Docklands Light Railway)

  • The Jubilee Line is recommended as the quickest route to ExCeL London. At Canning Town change to the DLR (upstairs on platform 3) for the quick two-stop journey to Custom House for ExCeL Station.
  • ExCeL London is located in zone 3 and London Underground tickets are valid on the DLR. It’s recommended that you purchase a return ticket or an All-Day Travelcard to avoid queuing on your journey home.
  • When travelling from Bank on the DLR change at Westferry for a Beckton bound train. When travelling from Lewisham take a Stratford train and change at Poplar for a Beckton bound train. Alternatively take the first Bank train and change at Westferry. Trains from Tower Gateway go direct to Custom House for ExCeL.

Eurostar

There is easy access to St Pancras International Station, the terminus for Channel Tunnel high-speed rail services.
Kings Cross St Pancras tube station leads directly into St Pancras International. From there you take the southbound Northern Line to Bank and change to the DLR (Docklands Light Railway) - see above.

By Air

  • ExCeL London is easily accessible from the main London airports via the National Railways and London Underground
  • London City Airport (LCY) is located just five minutes away, by car or taxi, and offers over 200 flights a day, providing access to over 30 European & UK destinations.
  • £140 million DLR extension now links ExCeL London with London City Airport (change at Canning Town for the 2-stop DLR journey to Custom House for ExCeL).
  • There are frequent shuttle buses from Canary Wharf and Canning Town direct to and from the airport.

Airport Coach Service from Canning Town
London Airport Coaches Ltd is now operating a non-stop service from Canning Town to Heathrow and Gatwick.

Coaches depart from Canning Town Central Bus Station (bus stop G), just 2-stops on the DLR (Docklands Light Railway) from ExCeL London. Travel times are 1hr to Heathrow and 1hr 20mins to Gatwick, with coaches departing between 5am and 5pm from Canning Town and between 6.40am and 6.40pm from both airports.

The service is available for both the leisure and business travelers and the coaches offer DVD, air-conditioning, hot & cold water and a toilet on-board.

Fares are affordable, with a single tickets costing just £10.

By Road

  • When driving to ExCeL London follow signs for Royal Docks, City Airport and ExCeL There is easy access to the M25, M11, A406 and A13.
  • If you’re travelling by car you can contact the AA for information on planning your journey and 24-hour live traffic reports. Contact the AA Roadwatch on +44 (0) 9003 401 100.

  • ExCeL London offers car-parking facilities for 4,000 cars.  It is recommended that you pay for your parking before leaving the centre at one of the many pay points located in the Boulevard. These points accept both cash and card. Alternatively you can pay for your parking at the car park but please note that these pay points only accept payment by card.
  • ExCeL London is not located in the Congestion Charge zone.

By Bus

Bus 147: Ilford to Canning Town stopping at: Browning House, East Ham, Upton Park, Prince Regent Lane (for Prince Regent station), Custom House for ExCeL, Royal Victoria, Keir Hardie Estate, Canning Town.

Bus 241: Stratford to Canning Town, stopping at: Plaistow, New Barn Street, Freemasons Road, Custom House for ExCeL, Keir Hardie Estate, Canning Town.

Bus 262: Stratford to Beckton, stopping at: Plaistow, Prince Regent Lane (for Prince Regent station), Tollgate Road, East Beckton, Beckton (Savacentre)

Bus 473 – Stagecoach : Stratford to North Woolwich, stopping at: Plaistow, Victoria & Albert Docks (for Prince Regent station), London City Airport, Silvertown, North Woolwich. By Direct access to a dual carriageway connects the new international exhibition centre with the national motorway network, the West End and the City (ExCeL is only 6 miles from Trafalgar Square).
