La Figa

A recent addition to Wapping and Limehouse, La Figa is contemporary Italian at its best.
You can eat in or take away and the choice is simply mind boggling – including soups, pasta, salads, antipasti, fish, meat, poultry and sweets. Service is attentive and the décor airy and relaxing.

London’s oldest riverside tavern started life in 1520 as The Devil’s Tavern. The fine views, much appreciated by today’s visitors, were sketched in earlier times by Turner and Whistler, and both Pepys and Dickens were regular visitors. There is an extensive
bar menu and the restaurant offers more substantial meals. Wines are modestly priced, with a wide choice also available by the glass.
The Grapes

Very possibly the pub Dickens called ‘The Six Jolly Fellowship Porters’ in Our Mutual Friend.
Today’s customers come for the peaceful atmosphere, helped by the deliberate absence of noisy fruit machines and juke boxes. They also come for the fish inspired bar meals and for the main fish restaurant, located upstairs.
The Narrow

Once the Dockmaster’s House for the Limehouse basin, this Grade II listed building on the edge of the Thames is now Gordon Ramsey’s first recently opened pub and commands wonderful views of the river. The ground floor features a bar area, a section for eating and a dining room, while the first floor contains a private dining room. The Narrow focuses on classic British dishes using seasonal ingredients, such as pea and ham soup, potted Cromer
crab and cock-a-leekie pie.
