Hitting the right note!

More than twenty members of the dental press gathered at Inamo, one of London’s most innovative restaurants, on 29 January 2010 for this year’s BDTA Dental Showcase press launch.

The annual event has become a much anticipated occasion for the editors of all the key dental publications as they eagerly await news of the theme and the plans for the UK’s largest dental exhibition.

The modern restaurant, complete with interactive ordering at the tables, gave the guests a clue towards this year’s theme but they became intrigued by the appearance of a brass trumpet and keen to learn how the various aspects were going to tone together.

Tony Reed, Executive Director at the BDTA, explained, “We will be focusing on the aspects of Showcase which are most important to the dental team this year and research has shown these to be ‘seeing what’s new’ and ‘broadening knowledge’.

We believe innovation, education and integration of the dental team are responsible for delivering an effective dental industry and patient satisfaction. This will be communicated through the use of a theme using musical instruments to highlight the benefits of these aspects working together in harmony.”

The dental press were positive about the plans for the forthcoming event and many put their writing skills into practice by composing their own notes explaining why Showcase remains the UK’s best exhibition. The winning submission was provided by Lisa Townshend, Editor of Dental Tribune, who was immediately in tune with the musical theme and said ‘Dental Showcase – hitting the right note for practitioners and providers’.
